Chapter 1 Switch to a movie star for love

I’d been in a secret relationship with a Best Actor for five years, and he’d never agreed to go public.

Yet, he’d turned around and locked lips with a top-tier starlet at a movie premiere—their kiss sloppy and lingering, saliva stretching between them.

In that moment, I finally grew tired of his endless neglect and coldness.

Watching their intimate display, I couldn’t help but gag publicly.

The media swarmed, shoving microphones in my face. “What’s wrong with you?”

I placed a hand on my stomach and smiled. “Nothing. Just pregnant, that’s all.”

The Best Actor’s face turned livid with anger.

“Jiang Xianhao! I was filming in Europe for three months—do you think you can reproduce asexually?”

I crossed my arms and looked at him playfully.

“Who said the baby’s yours?”

……

Backstage after the interview, everyone whispered and pointed at me behind my back.

Because just half an hour earlier, my secret boyfriend Ji Tao—for the sake of movie promotion—had kissed his co-star Shen Zhizhi so passionately that saliva trailed between them.

It made me sick to my stomach, and that involuntary gag had plunged the entire venue into awkward silence, cutting the interview short.

Ji Tao stormed off the stage toward me, with the delicate and charming Shen Zhizhi trailing beside him.

“Jiang Xianhao! To steal the spotlight and get attention, you’d lie about being pregnant? Isn’t that disgusting?”

“Brother Ji Tao, don’t be so harsh,” Shen Zhizhi cooed. “Sister Jiang didn’t mean it, right?”

She leaned into Ji Tao, her voice sickeningly sweet, but her eyes held the familiar glint of provocation I knew all too well.

After five years of hiding our relationship, almost everyone in the industry knew about us—except the fans.

He’d said he didn’t want to hurt his fans by going public, yet he’d had no hesitation in hyping up a romance with Shen Zhizhi.

Shen Zhizhi loved to intentionally act intimate with Ji Tao, then use it to provoke me.

I couldn’t stand her fake sweetness. I rolled my eyes and turned to leave.

Ji Tao called out, his tone brimming with impatience. “Hurry up and post a clarification! Don’t let your nonsense rumors ruin Zhizhi and my movie promotion.”

I froze. “Clarify what? Who said I’m lying?”

A flash of surprise crossed Ji Tao’s eyes before he quickly composed himself. “I was in Europe filming for three months—do you think you can reproduce asexually?”

I crossed my arms and looked at him playfully. “Who said the baby’s yours?”
